Large Families Scheme
The Large Families Scheme (LFS) strengthens support for couples with three or more children.
Under this scheme, couples will receive up to $16,000 of additional support for each third or subsequent Singapore Citizen (SC) child born on or after 18 Feb 2025. This includes:
(i) an increased Child Development Account First Step Grant of $10,000 (up from $5,000)
(ii) a $5,000 Large Family MediSave Grant
(iii) $1,000 annually in Large Family LifeSG Credits in the years that the child turns one to six*
*The Large Family LifeSG Credits also applies to existing large families with at least one child aged six or below in 2025 (i.e. born between 1 Jan 2019 and 17 Feb 2025).

Child Development Account (CDA) First Step Grant (FSG)
Parents will receive a $10,000 CDA FSG for each third or subsequent SC child born on or after 18 Feb 2025. This is double the $5,000 CDA FSG given for the first and second child. CDA funds can be used for approved child-raising expenses, including preschool fees and healthcare costs incurred by your child or his/her siblings, among other eligible expenses.
The grant will be deposited into the eligible child’s CDA, around two weeks after the CDA is opened.
Eligibility criteria
You have a third or subsequent SC child born on or after 18 Feb 2025.
Large Family MediSave Grant (LFMG)
Parents will receive a $5,000 LFMG for each third or subsequent SC child born on or after 18 Feb 2025. This will be credited into the mother’s MediSave account and can be used to pay for medical expenses for herself and her family members. The LFMG is in addition to the Medisave Grant for Newborns provided to all SC children at birth.
The LFMG will be deposited into the mother’s MediSave account, around two weeks after your child’s successful enrolment into the Baby Bonus Scheme.

Large Family LifeSG Credits (LFLC)
Large Family LifeSG Credits (LFLC)
Parents will receive $1,000 in LFLC annually for each third or subsequent SC child, in the years that your child turns one to six.
The LFLC will be disbursed to your child's CDA trustee via the digital wallet in the LifeSG app. The credits will be valid for 12 months and recipients will be notified by the Ministry of Social and Family Development once the credits have been disbursed into the recipients’ LifeSG app digital wallet.
The LFLC can be used via the LifeSG app at merchants accepting PayNow UEN QR and/or NETS QR, to defray a range of household expenses.
Eligibility criteria
Married or ever-married parents raising and caring for three or more children will receive the LFLC of $1,000 annually for each third or subsequent SC child aged one to six years old. To qualify:
- For married couples, there must be three or more living SC children (related by birth, adoption or step-relations) tied to the CDA trustees in the couple pair.
- For the widowed, there must be three or more living SC children (related by birth, adoption or step-relations) tied to the CDA trustees in the couple pair.
- For divorcees, there must be three or more living SC children (related by birth, adoption or step-relations) tied to him/her as the CDA trustee.
Eligibility is assessed annually, and the family must meet the eligibility criteria by the assessment cut-off date of 1 Mar to receive LFLC the same year.
Any changes in families’ eligibility that occur after this assessment date will only be taken into account for the following year’s LFLC disbursement.
- Children born between 2019 to 2024 will receive their first LFLC disbursement in Sep 2025
- Children born in 2025 will receive their first LFLC disbursement in Apr 2026
- Thereafter, LFLC will continue to be paid out annually in Apr to eligible children until the year they turn six
